Elements
Ceremonies may be simple, may be elaborate;
they share certain essential components, their
bones...
Here is a map
of potential key elements:
Preparation
Each couple and their wedding
invites its own requirements and as such,
we work together to find a process specific
to your needs. |
|
|
We meet with you to come
to know the journey of your relationship and in what
context your celebration occurs. Together we develop
the choice of symbols, ritual elements, the vows...
the artistry that is the expression of your core values
as a couple. |

The Rehearsal
It is customary and a good idea to have a "run-through"
prior to the wedding itself. This is its own occasion
and a time for your wedding party to have a gathering.
Sacred Fire Ceremonies,
through its network of healing practioners and performers,
offers you some unique opportunities. Here are some
ideas:
• a
yoga class •
a fire dance •
something that unites
your intimates and prepares both you and them for
the ceremony. |
Procession
How we enter into sacred space as a gathered community
is a pragmatically spiritual exercise where logistics,
spacing and symbology meet. Either indoors or out,
in a garden, a public park, an estate, a hotel, a
field or church or street corner, wherever you have
chosen as the "site" of your ceremony, orchestrating
the entrance is how we begin. A May Pole, a formal
procession alongside a river or an invitation to gather
under an arbor by a lake are examples which allow
for your congregation to arrive into the present moment.
Working "site-specifically" with the physical
surroundings of your ceremony makes an important and
essential statement. |

Entrance
Rites / Invocation
Many religious traditions use smoke and/or incense
as a means of cleansing a space and its energy field,
stating the intention of prayer to the universe and
consecrating objects and people, dedicating them to
a holy purpose.
We invite the Spirit’s presence, invoke its
mystery and ask for its blessing upon the gathered
assembly; connecting us to the web of life so that
we might entrain our energy to the highest vibration. |

The
Vows
Marriage is an intimate engagement between two people,
yet exists within a context of community, thus a
wedding ceremony is a public act whereby friends
and family are witnesses and co-celebrants; the
place where we come together to consecrate each
other through vows of love.
WIth the exchange of vows and rings, talismans of
the oaths taken, the couple embody the power of
love to conceive, nurture and transform. We all
participate in re-committing ourselves to the power
of love to transform our deepest hurts, to keep
our hearts open.
